In the tradition of hospitality to pilgrims, the Jay’s Green community at St Thomas More once again hosted the Essex Leg of Pilgrim Cross on the night of the Tuesday in Holy Week.

This year 28 pilgrims came to the Magpies Hockey Club to eat a hearty supper provided by parishioners, and to have a shower, having walked from Framlingham that day. They then spent the night in the hall at Jay’s Green.

Next morning their chaplain, Fr Paul Wilkinson, said Mass at 7.30am, with four parishioners in attendance, and the pilgrims set off for Wymondham, to arrive in Walsingham on Good Friday.
