GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) – many of you will have heard about the new legislation introduced on 25 May 2018. The diocese will issue guidelines to parishes and we will be putting the necessary changes in place. We will keep you informed of any changes regarding the way we currently hold personal information. PRIVACY AND YOUR INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE
In common with most websites, the Catholic Parish of St Edmund’s Bungay and Harleston website makes use of cookies, which are small text files stored on your computer.
We use the information stored in these files primarily to help us understand how people use our parish website and to enable us to make improvements.
We do not use cookies to store personal information, nor do we use them to identify individuals.

We use Google Analytics to help us analyse how our website is being used. Google Analytics provides information such as how many users have visited a certain page, how long they stayed on the page, whether they were first-time or repeat visitors, what type of browsers are used and much more besides. None of this information enables us to identify individuals, and no sensitive information is stored.
Google Analytics helps us do the following: on our website:

- maintain session for Google Analytics
- track referrals and search engine results
- track custom variables
We may at certain times ask you for personal information, for example when we do an online quiz. When we ask you for your personal information, you have the choice not to tell us your personal information. When you provide us with personal information, we will not store any personal information in cookies. In some circumstances use information for inclusion in the parish A-Z, where we give the contact details of parishioners who hold parish roles, or for the venues for certain parish events. The only personal information we may ask for is: your name, your phone number and/or your email address. We may ask for these in the following events (but not limited to);
- Sending information via forms on this website.
- Sending in comments about items on the website.
