“Habemus Papam! We rejoice that the Conclave has successfully chosen a new successor to St. Peter. Much will be made of his Peruvian ministry, but he has also been Superior General of his order and was for the last 18 months the Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, i.e. Pope Francis had entrusted him to oversee the selection of new bishops. Pope Leo XIV also has a doctorate in canon law!”
